Re: Whoa
Sun, September 30, 2007 - 3:58 PMIf you can figure out a way to get some exercise in in spite of (or with) the kids, that would probably help.
If you were ok with meds, I'd suggest a little Xanax. I can't take it right now while preggers, but when my Zoloft isn't cutting it because things at work have just gone insane, I'd take some Xanax to help me through the hyper anxious moment.
I only have to take Xanax about 2 to 4 times a year on top of the Zoloft. It's pretty rare that I need it.
Right now, people seem to be keeping me out of stress at work. Now if my family and friends wouldn't have major dramatic events in their lives, LOL!
Hope you were able to relax today. {{{HUGS}}}
Could you just take a hot bath and read a book you enjoy? -

Sun, September 30, 2007 - 5:52 PMAhhhh, a hot bath. I like our thnking, lol. I think I will try and do just that. My stomach just feels blah from being anxious. Thanks (higs) back to ya. I think I just have to much jumbled in my head. Some times my mind feels like a rubix cube. I have been thinking about Xanax. What does it do? Side effects? Does it interfer with your ablity to do things? -

Re: Whoa
Sun, September 30, 2007 - 6:12 PMXanax will help calm you down during an anxiety attack.
Unless you take too much, you will still be able to function. So, just don't overdose. Just take only as much as you need.
You don't want to mix it with alcohol. And of course you want to tell your doctor/shrink what other meds you are on before you are given a prescription for it.
Well, same for Zoloft. But they will be sure to ask you the right questions.
For some of these medications there is a risk of having a seizure. Not sure if that's if you forget a dose, or if you drink. So, again, just talk to your shrink/doctor, and get all the information you can.
It's not natural to be so anxious all the time. I regard the Zoloft I'm on as making it easier for me to be the non-anxious me. The "normal" me.

Re: Whoa
Tue, October 2, 2007 - 7:29 PMHi, Jenn,
The only side-effect that I know of for Xanax is that, if you are prescribed regular,high doses, you can become "dependent"--i.e. addicted. But it's not a big deal, your doc will just switch you to something like Klonopin, which does the same thing as Xanax, but is dependency-resistent. But, DEFINETLY talk it all through really well with your doctor. I'm pretty sure that both meds need to keep a certain degree of constancy in order in work efficiently. For me, the combination of Klonopin and Seroquel help calm me so well. Seroquel is technically a "mood stabilizer." It does help to round the edges off the spikes of anxiety and anxious situations. Also, There's just no way my brain would SHUT UP enough to let me get a decent night's sleep without the Seroquel.
